Truth 34: Blogs are Built for SEO

Just received our copy of The Truth About Search Engine Optimization, by Rebecca Lieb. The book offers 51 "truths" about how to optimize your site, increase your ranking, and help customers find your business online. 

As I often do, I started out by skimming through the table of contents and found that the Truths are grouped into ten Parts and that Part VI is called "Get a Social Life."

That caught my eye and then I saw that Part VI begins with:

Truth 34: Blogs are Built for SEO.

Are you paying attention? Lieb provides enough detailed advice in this one "Truth" to make her book a profitable purchase. Here are just a few of the reasons she says "Blog structure and architecture offer a baked-in SEO platform":

"Blogs and blog posts are naturally search-friendly because they're text-rich and link-rich."

"Blogs (and bloggers) tend to include far more outbound links in their content than do 'traditional' web properties.

 * * * *
"Blogs encourage participation and interaction not just through linking, but also through features such as comments and trackbacks."

I'll stop here, because I've just started reading the book (in the middle) myself. But I can already say without hesitation, if you have any presence online that you'd like to have the search engines find, you should be reading it too!
